Devil May Cry 4 goes limp with Sixaxis

Posted on January 5th, 2008 at 14:53 EDT

Lucky reviewers from far-off lands have gotten their greedy paws on bad-ass slash ’em up sequel, Devil May Cry 4, and have revealed a few nuggets of information.

First off, there will be Sixaxis control in the game…although it is only for controlling the camera. It’s a nice touch but will it be better than using the right analogue stick?

Secondly, on the PS3 version, sliding the game into the disc drive installs 5GB of data onto the Hard Drive for caching. This, apparently, is not an option. If you have one of the 60GB or 80GB PS3's, this probably won’t be too bad. However, for 40GB and especially 20GB users, this will be quite the chunk of memory gone. This could inevitably be a much larger issue if you happen to also utilize your PS3 as a home for your PC media as well.

Let’s just hope that this is changed for release, although highly reduced loading times would be nice.

Stay tuned.

dont think the HD issue is really an issue when people are upgrading them to new higher amounts anyway.

It could be an issue if they haven't upgraded (ahem: ME) and they don't wan't to get rid of their vids and demos just to make room to PLAY a game they got at a retail store.  I was excited when they announced the HD caching, but I was under the impression that is was optional.

You only use the 5GB when you actively play the game. After that you just erase it, and install it again if you want to play it some other time. Im satisfied with this solution :) *Edit: I just orderd a 320GB 2.5" HDD;)

Jesus christ. 5 gb xD. Even though I have 60 GB HD, and 500 GB External.

5 Gb's is ALOT of data, however it should mean it runs silky smooth... As long as the game takes a while to complete, i don't mind giving up the space for a bit... Also, it is likely that the 5 GB will be reduced by the time retail versions are out, review versions are always behind a little...

psn id: gingo.... i think they should make installing it to your hard drive optional becasue some poeple are seriously running out of space and at least they are using sixaxis is some way or another

I have a 160GB HDD, so its not a problem really.

I dont like the sixaxis controls though, i will have to disable that. Sounds as annoying as Heavenly Sword camera angle sixaxis support. IE: Get into a fight (which is inevitable) and you're F***ED.
