Kojima says Metal Gear Acid on PSN is "possible"Weekly PlayStation Portable sales in Japan have edged past the DS for another week, as Sony’s handheld machine continues to gather momentum, barely missing the top spot by little over 3,000 units.
According to Media Create data for the week ended March 9, PSP sold 53,924 units, just shy of the Wii’s 57,068, but still maintained lead over the DS, which sold 48,658 units during the same period.
Elsewhere, the PlayStation 3 sold 21,008 units, sustaining its lead over the PlayStation 2, which totalled 10,429.
Both machines again outsold the Xbox 360, which came in last place with 2,891 units sold.

Its funny, I thought at one point the PSP would be fazed out. It all went a bit quiet for the PSP about 6 months ago.

No, it's just that EVERYONE in Japan already has one. At least that's what it seems like.
This is just one market. I don't think that the xbox will ever do well in Japan. The numbers where a fight actually exist as in NA, EU, and AUS. Once Sony starts making headway in those regions, that's when we can start to laugh at Micro$oft. Although their reasoning for lagging behind the last couple of months was kind of funny lol

I don't care much for Nintendo but Azu, is close to right. The absolute right thing to say would be that everyone in Japan already has two DSs.

i don't get why people get all happy when the PS3 outsells the Xbox 360 in Japan....im no fan boy...but seeing as i own only a ps3 i guess you can say i'm a ps3 supporter......BUT the 360 does'nt sell in Japan, everyone knows this, so why get all gleeful?....here in the states well the ps3 has outsold the 360 two months straight, and M$ claims that its because of shortages, we'll find out soon enough whether there is any truth to those statements.....
The tides are turning in Japan now, hopefully the same will start in other countries with the PS3 outselling the Wii, hopefully...
