The latest Media Create data from Japan displays yet another successful week for Sony’s PlayStation Portable system, as it continues to outpace rival machines by a comfortable margin.
The portable gaming device sold 89,884 units for the week ended May 11, beating out the Nintendo Wii, which shifted 67,308 units during the same period.
DS came in third place with 51,228 consoles sold, followed by the PlayStation 3 in fourth, which sold 8,054 units.
Meanwhile, the PlayStation 2 came in fifth and the Xbox 360 in sixth place this week, selling 7,464 and 1,298 units each, respectively.

wow it still shocks me to see that the PSP is beating out the DS and Wii
now all that needed is for the PS3 to pick up the slack
wow ps2 sales is higher than xbox360
If only that happens in USA and Europe............
PSP got this from Crisis Core, FFXIII is what the PS3 needs!
actually zombieking36....Crisis Core came out last year in Japan. The PSP only experienced high sales of PSP for 3 weeks after the release of Crisis Core. After that, the DS was back outselling the PSP. But now PSP has been coming out with a few great games. It's also probably got to do with how many people already have a DS. Since so many more people have a DS than a PSP, it's PSP's turn to outsell the DS.
psn id: gingo.... hmmm 8k units for ps3 was quite low this week hopefully when mgs4 is released we see a huge leap in sales
it's almost rediculous how low the xbox sells over there.
